On Saturday July 16th the Rutland County Humane Society
and the Addison County Humane Society are partnering up to host the Furst Annual Fur-Fest.
Fur-Fest is a large-scale dog, cat, and kitten adopt-a-thon. Adoptable companion animals
from the RCHS, ACHS, and local breed rescue groups will all be brought together under
one roof in the hopes of finding a new loving family. This year that roof is the Diamond
Run Mall (for directions go to www.diamondrunmallvt.com)
in Rutland, VT from 10:00 to 2:00pm.
Fur-Fest promises to be the perfect event for anyone who has ever considered adding a cat
or dog to their family. In one location you will have the opportunity to interact with a
huge variety of cats and dogs from two humane societies that, combined, handle more than
2000 cats and dogs each year. Staff and volunteers from the RCHS and ACHS, in addition to
representatives from Green Mountain Pug Rescue, Above & Beyond English Setter Rescue,
Doberman Rescue Unlimited, Northern Greyhound Adoptions, and Rutland Area Disaster Animal
Relief Team will be on-hand to talk about adoption options or answer any other questions
you might have.
Fur-Fest is the first such collaborative adoption effort between the Rutland County Humane
Society and Addison County Humane Society and it will likely be the largest adoption event
to ever take place in the state of Vermont! With your help it could be the most successful
as well. Please encourage your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers to attend this
unprecedented opportunity at making the perfect match and finding that amazing "forever friend."
